(Evening News)BROXBURN opened the scoring in 16 minutes when Armit fired over a cross for Geddes to slot home. Carluke equalised when Reid hit the bar and Arnott was first to react to nod home. Millar restored the visitors' advantage by prodding home after the keeper had spilled a free kick from Young. Jeffrey added a third five minutes before the break after a darting run. Gary Maley in the visiting goal got his side's fourth when he fired a ball from his box which took one bounce and went high into the net, just before the break.

Bishop saved Broxburn midway through the first half with a goal line clearance, but Lochgelly scored from the resulting corner.

Broxburn dominated the start of the second half. In the 55th minute Broxburn where awarded a penalty for a handball which Geddes put away. 3 minutes later and a Geddes solo run seen the striker shooting outside the box and past the keeper making it 2-1. Broxburn could of been much further in front but Douglas seen a effort over the bar and another saved by the keepers right hand. Ritchie also could of been the scoresheet but for his headers being over the bar. Lochgelly where reduced to 10 men when the Lochgelly player said something to the referee

John Jeffreys put Broxburn in the lead in the first half with a header from a Craig Young cross. Jeffreys added to the scoreline in the second half after a clever through ball from Pearson, seen Jeffreys beat the Edinburgh defence with his pace, by running from inside his own half to score.

22nd August Bo'ness United 1 Broxburn Athletic 0

A bizarre hand ball from Shanks gave the BU's a penalty which was scored to make it 1-0. Broxburn put up a good showing but are now out of the League Cup.

18th August  Whitburn Juniors 3 Broxburn Athletic 1

A game of two halves. Broxburn passed and played well against their superleague opponents, with Ritchie scoring a looping header to equalise in the 26th minute. However a harsh sending off for Ritchie early in the second half made it easy for Whitburn's quality to see them through.

11th August Dalkeith 1 Broxburn Athletic 5

A well won victory for Broxburn that came at a cost. Geddes came off injured after a cruel tackle from Dalkeith that will see the player out for some time.

8th August  Fauldhouse 1 Broxburn Athletic 1

Broxburn opened their season with an away trip to Fauldhouse. After a good opening spell by Broxburn, the ball was cut back to Ritchie who took a touch to control the ball and hit the ball into the back of the net in the 9th minute.

With both teams looking to impress on the game, Fauldhouse pressure finally paid off with a penalty awarded 2 minutes from full-time which was converted to give Fauldhouse a share of the points
